Weekly Roundup № 1

It is hard for me to believe that we only have 10 days of January left! Where has the first month of this year gone already?

I’ve spent this week meeting with my wedding planning clients, working to book vendors for 2019 weddings, and trying to work “on” my business rather than “in” my business.

I love taking Sundays to go back through what I’ve pinned for the week, blog posts I’ve save, articles I’ve clipped, etc. And I think it will be fun to share some of my favorites for the week!

I’ve been thinking a lot about Instagram Stories and how I can use them to best help my audience. I loved this article that had lots of great ideas for Instagram Stories! It also came with the recommendation of Unfold, an app to create Instagram Stories layouts and I am totally obsessed! If you want to check out some of the ways I am using Instagram Stories, hop over here and lets be friends!

I signed up for a new challenge from The Content Planner. I am super excited to see what she sends out and have already been inspired by the introduction to her 7-day challenge!

Scrolling through Pinterest introduced me to Elle Drouin and I am totally obsessed with her blog now!

I cannot listen to music with words or tv shows while I am working, my mind just cannot focus! So I have been loving this “Piano in the Background” playlist on Spotify. It is the perfect soothing music that I just barely notice. I do love listening to Podcasts while driving - it really makes bopping between meetings so much more enjoyable! This week I really loved listening to one of my idols, Lynn Easton, on The Wedding Biz - so inspiring! Little known fact about me, I really wanted to be either an Infectious Disease Doctor or an Epidemiologist growing up and I still love the study of Epidemiology. I love This Podcast Will Kill You and devour every episode! Which podcasts are inspiring you recently? Leave a comment, I am always looking for recommendations!

My husband and I watched Spotlight the movie last night. It is about The Boston Globe investigating allegations against Priests and the Archdiocese of Boston of child molestation. Definitely a heavy topic, but because I started my career working for newspapers, I love any movies that are true to that industry. Plus, Spotlight won Best Picture at the 2016 Academy Awards. If you like newspaper movies but want something a little less intense, we also recently watched The Post with Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks. My husband actually preferred The Post to Spotlight.

We’ve been doing Dry January which has been great. It has made me switch up what I am drinking and I’ve jumped back on the herbal tea wagon. I specifically love Yogi Breathe Deep tea. I like Licorice Root, and this tea definitely has that flavor. I also have been loving GT’s Synergy Watermelon Wonder Kombucha. It is a great introduction into Kombucha if you don’t love the natural taste.

Finally, I read an amazing book: Circe. If you like Greek Mythology at all, I cannot recommend this enough!

Just a note, none of these are affiliate links or sponsored in any way. I just have been into these recommendations and wanted to share them with you!
